Welcome to the Liverpool Open Water Society Webpage
The City of Liverpool Open Water Swimming Club was formed by a bunch of master swimmers back in the 80's, from Westminster Road swimming baths and coached by Dianne Jamieson. During the past 20 odd years alot has been achieved!
Jimmy Tinsley was the first City of Liverpool Open Water member to sucessfully complete a solo English Channel swim. This was subsequently followed by up by the first sucessful relay swim in 1990. Since then there have been many more triumphant English Channel swims including the first Junior team in 2005. We also hold the World Record for the quickest relay swim across the Northern Channel, between Scotland and Ireland.
We hope to achieve alot more in the future!
Come down and give it a go. You never know you might just find yourself swimming the Channel one day!
